Moonstone Ranch - Our Alpacas

Moonstone Ranch is growing all the time! Featured below are the ladies who make up our breeding stock—who we call "the Moonstone Girls."

To see pictures of our wonderful alpacas, please visit our Alpaca Gallery.  Also see our Alpacas For Sale.

Sollocota-Quechua. The oldest in the herd is an original import from Peru. She is a very stoic, dark fawn suri alpaca. An experienced mother, Quechua’s next cria is due in May, 2007 out of the multi-ribbon winning Ben's Boy of Maplewood Farms.

Astrita. A gorgeous fawn and white suri fancy and truly regal girl with her head always held erect and her tail out, she is a real character and quite fun to watch.  Astrita is blue ribbon winner of the competitive 2001 Futurity Show.  She is a wonderful mother.  She is being bred to the famous Condor of Great Lakes Ranch this spring.  With her fancy coloring and Condor's history of throwing awesome, speckled offspring, this is definitely a cria to be excited about!

My Peruvian Tamarijn. Quite a long name for this little girl! This medium brown, 2003 Kentucy Classic Color Reserve Champion has been nicknamed “Tanker” due to her wonderful heavy bone and eager appetite. She is 1/2 Accoyo and full Peruvian.  She has the last outside breeding to the famous, full-Accoyo, Augusto, owned by Five Star Ranch.  We anxiously await this 3/4 Accoyo cria which is due in December.

Tapioca. An original Peruvian import, beige suri and very experienced mom. Tapioca has heavy bone and amazing coverage, especially for an older girl. She is pregnant with the incredible Mahogany Prince, owned by American Style Alpacas.  We are really looking forward to seeing what this pair can produce.  this cria is due in early fall.

Novara of PVA. A beautiful, full Peruvian, bay black and gray suri daughter of Prince of Ghiradelli of PVA. Novara is one of our very best producers.  She gave birth to a gorgeous, solid true black female in August 2004, name named Kobe's Amianetta of Peru04, and purchased by BBF Alpacas.  Her next cria was just as if not more impressive, when she produced Mahogany Prince's first silver gray offspring.  Named, The Silver Prince, this awesome cria was purchased by US Alpaca when only six months old. We figured this was a good pair to try again, so Novara is again bred to Mahogany Prince.

Aria-Anna La DiosaFOR SALE! This light brown, female suri is out of Moonstone Ranch's Astrita and US Alpaca's rosegray Quasar.  Arie-Anna has everything: locking, luster, perfect conformation and bite.  Arie-Anna is bred to Mahogany Prince of PVA!  We are hoping for a rosegray from this combination, but we'll find out in July, when the cria is due.
